Seattle Maritime Festival 2014

We are so lucky to have a place to live in Downtown Seattle.

Today the 2014 Maritime Festival was held 3 blocks away from our apartment, Kim packed a lunch bag and we enjoyed our selves with the activities held on the Puget Sound at Pier 63.

Several Tugboats show off their maneuverability by travelling in reverse, sideways and going around in circles.

We also saw an "Abandon Ship" demonstration where crew members got into their orange survival suits, jumped off the ship and got into an inflatable raft. After they use a couple of flares to ask for help a ship came to their rescue.

Finally, a crew member of an helicopter jumped into the water to later be rescued back into the same air ship.

Check out the photos and video of this event.

We love this town.

Seattle Aquarium

Kim and I love aquariums.

We have been at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium in California, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta and the one in Kuala Lumpur when we moved to Malaysia in 2008. Last week we finally decided to pay a visit to the Seattle Aquarium since is only half a mile away from our house.

Even when the Seattle Aquarium is not as big as Monterrey Bay, or have a under water tunnel as the one in Kuala Lumpur or Atlanta, it has enough exhibits and features to keep you amazed for at least half of your day.

We have to come back and pay a another visit to the Octopuses, those guys are amazing!

Check some photos and videos of our visit.

Commuting in Seattle

While we were walking Wi-Fi, we were lucky enough to witness how real Seattleites commute.
