First day at Portland Comic Con

Our first day at this convention was a success. It started with a slow pace but it picked up steam very quickly and it reached critical mass mid morning.

The exhibition hall was packed by noon and the main ballroom got to maximum capacity on several popular panels including the Cosplay competition.

The Cosplay competition had at least 70 competitors but the pace of the contest was fast fast fast, step on to the stage, hit your mark, go to the front of the stage, hit your mark, come back, exit left.

The judges only stopped about 10 competitors to ask them some questions about their costumes.

At the end of the competition, the selected winners reflected more or less the audience response.

All and all, this was a very good first day, now we will sleep and recharge for tomorrow.

The Laika Panel

The animation studio called Laika had a panel at the Portland Comic Con.

I already knew that stop motion animation was required lots of work, but after this panel, now I have a better understanding of the level of dedication and effort involved in the creation of their beautiful full lenght feature films.

Portland, we have arrived

Hello Portland,

We just arrive to the beautiful city of Portland in order to attend Portland Comic Con.

This is not only our first convention of the year, but is also our first convention in Portland.

This convention only lasts for 2.5 days but we are very excited to attend.

Now we eat, tomorrow we explore.
