The USS Arizona Memorial is part of the recently dedicated WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument.
Entrance is free, but it will cost you $7.50 to rent the audio guide. Also, parking is very limited and it fills fast; by 8:00am there were only two spaces available,The tour includes a movie explaining the reasons why Japan attacked, what was their strategy, and why it was successful. After the movie, you take a boat to the actual memorial site, the resting place for the USS Arizona.Overall it is a somber experience; while the movie gives you the facts of the events, it all comes together when you set foot at the memorial and the only thing above water is a service ladder and the remains of one of her gun turrets.Roberto RamirezSent from my android device.
