Hello Everyone!
Last month, I had to go to Toronto to teach a class for one of my customers and I used the last day of my stay to explore the city.
By the way, during my stay in Toronto they recorded the coldest day in the last two years, lucky me.
In this post I will explore the CN Tower.
The Tower has two different observation decks, each one with its own elevator.
The first one is the LookOut Level at 346m (1,136ft). It has a 360 degrees view of the city and has a glass floor for you to stand on it and look straight down, if you dare.
There is a restaurant at this level, and it claims to have the world’s highest wine cellar; since I do not drink, I was not able to verify this information.
The second level is the SkyPod at a thrilling 447m / 1,465ft high above the city, also with a 360 dregeree view, it is the highest observation platform in the world with a unique and spectacular view of the city of Toronto.
The brodhure says that under ideal conditions we could see the Niagara Falls or New York State (160km / 100mi away from the Tower). The day I was visiting the Tower there were some clouds so I could not see that far.
At the bottom of the Tower you will find the Gift Shop, more restaurants, a small movie theater and a virtual reality ride called the Himalayas (similar to StarWars Tours).
The movie theater was close, so no luck there; but save your time and money on the Himalayas ride unless you enjoy getting sprayed with water while simulating the adventures of a freshly cut piece of timber traveling down the river. There was not background music or sound effects during the ride, the only sound I could hear was of the hydraulic pistons moving the ride.
